If we talked
about ancient civilization, one city that would come up in my list is the city
of Rome. The city of Rome began its civilization as early as the 8th
century BC, thus the part of the city with remnants of the ancient century is
called Ancient Rome. The city is the capital of Italy with a population of over
2.8 million and a land mass of 1, 285.3 km2. It is considered one of the
largest and the most populated city in Italy and much like the rest of the
country, Rome is predominantly Roman Catholic and is long been the important
center of religion and pilgrimage.
The city of Rome
with its long history of civilization is no wonder known for its rich cultural
heritage with dated centuries ago and is until now noticeable in the city’s
architecture and structures from parks, fountains, gardens, statues, obelisks,
bridges and catacombs.
